About amazingfiction.org

Fact-checking Seventh-day Adventist teachings about Bible prophecy.

Brother Anderson

amazingfiction.org was founded in 2009 to examine the prophetic teachings of the Seventh-day Adventist [SDA] Church, particularly its interpretation of the books of Daniel and Revelation.

The site is maintained by Brother Anderson, a former SDA of 33 years who studied SDA prophetic teachings at an SDA university.

Why This Site Exists

While SDA prophecy seminars are often presented as objective and biblical, many of their conclusions rest on assumptions that do not withstand careful scriptural or historical examination.

For over a century, SDA prophecy has been promoted as a defining proof of the denomination’s divine calling. These interpretations are taught in evangelistic seminars, Sabbath School materials, and official publications.

After decades within Adventism, the founder of this site undertook a sustained, verse-by-verse comparison of SDA prophetic claims with the biblical text itself, as well as the historical context in which those prophecies were fulfilled.

The result of that study revealed significant interpretive problems, internal contradictions, and doctrinal conclusions that extend beyond what Scripture actually teaches.

Prophecy and Its Consequences

Prophetic interpretation is not merely an academic exercise. Within Adventism, these teachings shape identity, worldview, and attitudes toward other Christians.

End-time scenarios commonly presented in SDA literature portray other Christian traditions as future persecutors, enemies of God, or instruments of deception. Such narratives foster fear, suspicion, and division rather than clarity and charity.

Scripture warns that mishandling prophecy can produce confusion rather than understanding, and speculation rather than faith. A good example of that is the SDA prophet David Koresh.

Our Method

amazingfiction.org approaches prophecy with several guiding principles:

  • Scripture interprets Scripture.
  • Clear passages are not redefined by obscure ones.
  • Historical context matters.
  • No religious system is above biblical examination.

Sources are cited, arguments are addressed directly, and readers are encouraged to verify every claim for themselves.

Our Commitment

This site is not an attack on individual Seventh-day Adventists, many of whom are sincere believers seeking to honor God. It is an examination of ideas, not people.

If you believe any material on this site has misrepresented Scripture, history, or official SDA teaching, thoughtful correspondence is welcome. Contact us.
